Beautiful showgirl Evelyn Nesbit (Joan Collins) causes scandal at the turn of the century when two wealthy men fight over her affections.

Playboy architect Stafford White (Ray Milland) and erratic millionaire Harry K. Thaw (Farley Granger) are bitter rivals., but eventually Thaw wins the very public fight and persuades Evelyn to marry him.
