WITH every star in Hollywood dressing to impress at the Oscars, Joan Collins wasn't about to be outshone on the red
carpet.
After all, at 77, the TV and film legend knows more about showbiz glamour than most of herounger rivals can dream about.
The trouble is, by her own admission, evergreen Joan took youthful dressing a step too far by wearing clothes so tight she suffered "a Victorian swoon" and had to be rushed to hospital.
The former Dynasty star was pictured out and about in Los Angeles in skinny jeans and a tight top by day, followed by an evening dress that was so constricting it left her feeling queasy.
Joan has since admitted her choice of outfit was the "wrong decision" after she almost passed out at the Vanity Fair
Academy Awards party at the Sunset Tower Hotel on Sunday night. .
"We had been there for seven hours and l started feeling dizzy," she told interviewers. "I tried to get some air but.I felt really faint."
At this point theatre manager Percy Gibson, 45, the star's fifth husband, took decisive action. "I wanted to leave in our
limo but Percy decided to call an ambulance,", added Joan.
"We went to the hospital and they did all the tests before the doctors told me I was absolutely fine and released me.
The truth was, I made the wrong decision to wear a very tight dress and had something rather like a Victorian swoon.
"The good news is, I am in good health and feel fine today."
The star had opted for a figure hugging purple plunqe-necked cocktail dress but began to feel faint orice inside the party.
Soon afterwards, at around ,10pm, she had to rest on a hotel sofa before Percy called for the ambulance.
Earlier that night, Joan had joked about her dress to fans in a Twitter message. "Laughing so hard at Kirk Douglas [presenting an Oscar]
that my dress came undone - almost did a Janet Jackson!"
she said, referring to the 2004 Super Bowl show when singer Jackson's right breast popped out of her too-tight leather catsuit. 
Wonder if Joan would have felt more comfortable in her old
power suit and shoulder pads; as worn by her Dynasty character
Alexis Carrington?
